XSMP by Siger Studio for 3ds Max continues the legacy of plugins like V-Ray Material Presets Pro (VMPP), Corona Material Presets Pro (CMPP), and Material Repository Pro (MRP). However, it is an entirely new software developed from scratch.
The concept for XSMP dates back to 2006 when the first material manager was created using MaxScript, initially offering a few free material libraries. The commercial plugin development started in 2009, incorporating C# and MaxScript.
Today, XSMP is written in C#/C++ and features thousands of material presets, a fast and user-friendly material manager, and a materials laboratory for testing your own materials.
