Description

I’m sharing my work on Eplan for free use.

The goal is to give Eplan users a live example to see how certain settings are used. They can customize a project or use my work as a starting point for their own projects and modify it as needed. You can use everything as a visual guide to explore the possibilities of using Eplan.

I have never taken formal courses or training in Eplan; I am self-taught.

I have many years of experience in design work in automation, including using Eplan. I grew weary of using Eplan primarily as a drawing tool, which is how most people use it. Setting it up takes a lot of time and effort, leaving little time to learn and adjust settings during projects. As a result, I left the design field for a few years, worked outside my specialty to earn money and free up time and mental energy, and developed a concept for building projects in Eplan. My main principles were to adhere closely to current standards (GOSTs) and make maximum use of Eplan’s functionality as intended by its developers. Consequently, I developed three templates for different standards: SPDS (according to GOST 21.408-2013), GOST 34 (similar to SPDS), and ESKD.

Here’s what I provide:

• The entire “Data” folder (C:\Users\Public\EPLAN\Data), which is crucial for the installed Eplan program. It includes databases (like Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Express), macros (including those from the data portal), images, diagrams, frames, forms, symbols, and toolbars with icons for project work (you can activate these by right-clicking near the “Help” tab, selecting “Import,” and choosing the “KB625_xxx.xml” files, organized by areas, and managing them in the “View” mode at \workspace).
• A folder with systematically organized files containing basic settings, properties, etc. Also included is a file named “Eplan.docx,” where I’ve documented my notes on various topics related to working with Eplan.
• In the “SQL” folder, there are different product databases; the active one (named “KB625”) is in “data.mdf”. Others are from the DataPortal and are named by manufacturers. Note that not all products in the DataPortal adhere strictly to Eplan’s intended standards. From personal experience, many DataPortal products lack correct properties and settings, despite being touted as examples of proper Eplan design. Therefore, it’s advisable to use the DataPortal mainly for macros, 3D models, and drawings, minimizing the need for extensive customization in your own database.
